florals&stripes

Pants & Boots: Forever 21// Jacket & Scarf: Zara // Shirt: Joyce Leslie
One of my biggest challenges is mixing prints! Hijab makes it a little more difficult because of the extra item of clothing and just looks like there is so much is going on. BUT there is a way to make it work! For now, I have mastered mixing florals or small prints with stripes. The key is that size of the two prints should be different. For example, with these wide stripes on my pants, I paired it with a scarf that has small clustered flowers. The colors also matter. For it to look together, I definitely try to have one common color. In this case, it is black. I also try to add that color somewhere else in my outfit so it ties it in all together. For hijabs, always stay with the basic or neutral colors when mixing prints. Black, navy blue, beige, and taupe are good examples. Other colors can make the outfit look like there's way too much going on. Keep it simple!

Here are some of my favorite looks that play with different prints and colors:

Love this for a casual look! I would probably put on a navy blue hijab.

This is probably my favorite! Although risky, it is really well put together and of course a black hijab.
Real easy look to put together! Just throw on a black hijab

I'm going to try to be doing more of these short bit posts along with my lengthy ones, that way I can stay more active. Let me know if you have any ideas or suggestions for blog posts! I would love to hear them :)

with love,
sania
